I love bridges.

Most people travel around looking at churches, but not me. To me, unless you're religious (and what thinking person is, these days) churches aren't terribly useful. But a bridge is always useful.

A bridge may be beautiful. A bridge may be an architectural marvel. An engineering masterpiece. A design classic. A piece of history. A monument to something or someone. But whatever a bridge is or isn't, there's always some guy at one side of the river who wants to get to the other side of the river. And he can do it because of the bridge. That's why I love bridges.

Here are some pics of the Ponte de 25 Abril in Lisbon. If it looks familiar it's because it was built by the same firm who did the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
